Requesting an unlocked withdrawal

If you’re leaving ACC (retiring, resignation or redundancy), you can choose what you want you’d like to do with your unlocked mysuper retirement savings. This includes making an unlocked withdrawal.

An unlocked withdrawal can only be requested once you’ve had your last day at ACC.

For your security and privacy, and to safeguard your investment against fraudulent activity, you are required to provide CERTIFIED copies of your identification, address and bank account verification.

Locked contributions can only be accessed when you have reached the NZ Superannuation age (currently 65 years). Until then they can remain in your mysuper account under investment.

Continue saving with mysuper

Once you’re a member you have the choice to stay in mysuper even after leaving ACC, continuing to access key benefits and keeping your investment options open. Your existing investment stays, but further contributions cease once you’ve left ACC, except for voluntary contributions you might make (rules apply).
